If you enjoy seeing every screen lock up while adobe configures something…then you will enjoy using Acrobat 7 in Vista. I have no idea what causes this bug, but it seems like acrobat wants to install something and it starts over everytime you use explorer.
That means every web browser screen, even a new tab! It also means opening the computer applet (to see your drives or files) also fires this thing into gear. Eventually it times out or goes away bit it really screws up your productivity. I tried a few variations on the install, setting the installer properties to WinXP Service Pack 2 didn’t seem to matter.
I even checked the adobe site, to see if their was a Vista patch–no such luck. Apparently they are still exploring the new OS from Microsoft and haven’t produced anything to fix this yet. I’m sure this wont last for long but what a nuisance in the present. If you have Acrobat 5 it works better but it doesn’t install the print driver for some strange reason. I guess you can’t have everything…where would you put it?
